    Keluar Sekejap initially started due to KJ and Shahril's dismissal from the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and was inspired from the British podcast The Rest is Politics hosted by Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart, who were also both expelled from their parties. KJ and Shahril's expulsion started due to their open criticism towards the sitting president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
