Wichita Falls - John L. "Jay" Tucker passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church in Wichita Falls. Reggie Coe, Senior Adult Pastor, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral home of Wichita Falls. Mr. Tucker will be laid to rest in the Davidson Cemetery in Davidson, Oklahoma.
Jay was born on June 29, 1930, in Davidson, Oklahoma, where he spent his childhood years exploring the Red River, helping his father in the family-owned drugstore, and working in the cotton fields. After graduating from Davidson High School, he attended college at the University of Oklahoma and married his childhood sweetheart, Joann Hall on May 26, 1950. While attending college, he joined the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He served in the Intelligence, Infantry, and Artillery branches of the Marines and was a graduate of the Naval War College. Jay served in the Marines for 33 years and retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
After serving in Korea, Jay returned to the University of Oklahoma where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Geological Engineering and his Master of Business

American football player
Jason Tucker (born June 24, 1976) is the receivers coach for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is formerly a gridiron footballwide receiver where he played for the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL and the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Texas Christian University.
Early life
[edit]Tucker attended Robinson High School, where he practiced football, basketball and track. He played on the freshman football team but made the varsity basketball and track team as a freshman.
In football, he was a two-way player as a wide receiver and defensive back. As a senior in 1993, he scored 2 touchdowns in the span of 30 seconds against the Troy Trojans. He was a two-time All-state selection, finishing with 81 receptions for 1,771 yards and 25 touchdowns.
In track, his best event was the long jump, in which he was a state finalist his junior and senior years. He competed in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the state finals in his senior year.
College career
