TONY EASTLEY: The public servant at the centre of the Ozcar affair has finally broken his silence, admitting he faked the email which has caused so much political trouble for the Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull.
Godwin Grech, the Treasury official in charge of the car financing fund has told News Limited newspapers that he forged an email purportedly from the Prime Minister's office and showed the forgery to the Opposition Leader.
Mr Grech is currently undergoing psychiatric care in Canberra.
The Government says Malcolm Turnbull's position is now untenable.

NAOMI WOODLEY: Godwin Grech has been in a Canberra psychiatric ward since giving his explosive evidence to a Senate inquiry in June.
But now he's given a five-page statement to The Australian newspaper setting out his side of the Ozcar story.
He's admitted to faking the email that was used by the Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull in making his allegations of corruption against the Prime Minister and Treasurer.
Mr Grech is quoted as saying he made an error of judgement but did it because he was concerned the Opposition was going to block or delay the car financing fund.
