He was a supernova, a bright and shining light who fell in right after Peyton Manning and provided the town with some of the most breathless football we’ve ever seen — and we’ve seen some ethereal quarterbacking around these parts the last few decades.

I’m going to say something mildly controversial — maybe — and it’s this:

Look, there was no greater Luck fan than yours truly. All throughout the doomed 2011 season, when the Colts went 2-14 while Manning recovered from multiple neck surgeries, I wrote it was time to move on from Manning and start anew with Luck, the first pick in the 2012 draft. It reached the point where Manning jokingly (?) called me “Andrew Luck’s agent.”
